Protection Against Multiple Blast Loads
MAT model BL-201 blast damper provides protection against multiple blast loads that can occur during vapor cloud explosions. Testing performed by Baker Risk demonstrates the damper’s ability to absorb successive blast loads from 3 psi to 16 psi and remain operational (see summary of test results below for specimen #2, a 32” x 32” ID damper).
The damper is designed to be surface mounted to walls and ceilings, or can be duct mounted using
a flange connection.
When combined with the MAT model BD-200-HD fire resistant pressure relief damper, the
package offers blast protection and pressure relief for buildings or spaces designed with fire
suppression systems.
Model BL-201 has been AMCA tested for pressure drop performance and is ATEX certified for use in explosive atmospheres.
